It's technically correct both ways. I write it as one word, but it was conceived as two incidental words.
Back in 2000 when KXUA was still young... so young that it's antennae was not yet bolted to the roof of the girl's dorm (Humphrey's,) I was but a wide-eyed radio supporter to most of the pilgrimatic crew... and in the cell phone of DC was the entry Dave Radio. So it began... Dave... from the radio station... was warmly greeted on the other end of the phone... not with 'hello' but with Daaaave Radio.

The best nicknames, they say, are the ones given to you by your friends... unless your friends are assholes.
